Dwayne Johnson has dived straight into his new role in the upcoming live-action movie Jungle Cruise by making a surprise appearance at the attraction the movie is based on.

On Monday (10Apr17), the Furious 7 star took to Instagram to show off a picture of himself on the ride alongside several surprised fans.

"Surprise! Once I committed to our Disney partners to make the movie based off the JUNGLE CRUISE ride, I wanted to dive head first into the research," he wrote. "So I headed to Walt Disney World and surprised tourists by commandeering the JUNGLE CRUISE boat. It was a GREAT day on the river. Learned a lot..."

"This is such an amazing, fantastical and cool world to build out," he continued. "Best part about this surprise research day was knowing how FUN of an experience we're gonna work hard to create for families around the world. That's the part that gets me excited the most. The movie. The ride. The experience. It's the cruise of a lifetime. And trust me, you'll want me as your Skipper... Next step... we find our visionary director."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former WWE wrestler will not only appear in the flick, but he will also act as a producer. Disney has been in talks with the Moana star about Jungle Cruise since 2015, but the project had been on hold while writers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay wrote the latest draft of the script.

Other cast members are yet to be announced, but filming is expected to begin in spring 2018 to fit in with Dwayne's hectic shooting schedule. The box office favorite is currently promoting action flick The Fate of the Furious, and will shortly begin shooting video game movie adaptation Rampage.
