Drake leads Polaris Prize long list
Drake, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Death From Above 1979 are among the eclectic acts who have made it onto this year's (15) Polaris Prize long list.
METZ, Whitehorse, Cold Specks and Jazz Cartier are also among the 40 artists whose albums have been recognized as the best from Canadian artists in the past year.
The 10-album shortlist will be announced next month (Jul15) and the
Polaris Music Prize Gala will be held in Toronto, Canada in
September (15).
Last year's (14) Polaris Prize winner was Tanya Tagaq, while
Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Feist and Arcade Fire have also picked
up the award in recent years.
Death From Above 1979 are nominated this year for The Physical
World, Drake for If You're Reading This It's Too Late and Buffy
Sainte-Marie for Power in the Blood.
