Rapper Drake is paying tribute to his second home of Houston, Texas by holding a weekend-long event to raise money for local charities.

The Fancy hitmaker is a Canada native but he has adopted the city as his second home after spending many of his early years as an aspiring rapper there.

For the second consecutive year, Drake is hosting the Houston Appreciation Weekend, set to take place over Memorial Day weekend from 22 to 25 May (15).

The main event will take place on 22 May at the University of Houston's Cougar Field, where Drake will host a celebrity softball game. The MC is set to take to the field with Houston rapper Kirko Bangz, and popular athletes such as former Houston Astros baseball stars Chris Sampson and Brandon Backe and Houston Texans football players Duane Brown and Darryl Morris, Jr.

Proceeds from the softball game will go towards the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy.
