DJ Snake a no-show at Alabama festival as social media pages are yanked

Written by . Published: May 22 2017

Dj Snake's fans are a little concerned after the hitmaker pulled out of a U.S. festival at the weekend (21May17) and scrapped his social media pages.

The Turn Down For What star was a no-show at the Hangout Festival in Alabama on Sunday, and there's still no word about his absence.

Meanwhile, his Twitter and Instagram feeds have disappeared.

DJ Snake has been a U.S. festival headliner for months, appearing at Ultra and Coachella, and he's set to perform at Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo and Electric Forest.

Prior to his performance at California's Coachella in April (17), the French DJ, real name William Sami Etienne Grigahcine, admitted he was sick of all the social media beefs with his peers - and vowed to shut down after a 2016 war of words with David Guetta.

He took aim at his fellow Frenchman, calling him out for his Euro 2016 soccer tournament anthem, This One’s For You - a collaboration with rising Swedish singer and songwriter Zara Larsson.

Snake branded the tune as "horrible" and slammed it as a "fake" take on his track Lean On.

The messages he posted online have since been deleted, and now he regrets the criticism.

"I put Guetta on blast and I felt bad...," he told online podcast Hot Ones in April (17). "I was like, 'Dude, f**k this, man'. I don't wanna do that anymore."

DJ Snake's slot at the Hangout Festival was filled by rapper Lil Yachty.
