Hip-hop star Dj Khaled surprised University of California, Berkeley students by delivering a pep talk during their graduation ceremony.

The rapper and social media celebrity, 41, stunned statistics graduates who were receiving their degrees on Thursday (18May17), by appearing on stage after a speech from Steve Stout.

At the end of Stout's address, the businessman told the students he had a "gift" for them, at which point Khaled marched on stage to the soundtrack of his hit song All I Do Is Win.

A video posted on the university's Facebook page showed the rapper performing in front of confused but delighted students.

He then delivered a pep talk, in which he said he wanted to "praise the young kings and queens for graduating today".

The hip-hop star admitted that he had not graduated from university himself but said it was "inspiring" to be at Thursday's ceremony.

"They didn't believe in me at one time in my lifetime," he added. "Look at me now I'm on stage with kings and queens and a generation of geniuses that's going to run the world."

Other stars who've made appearances at graduation ceremonies at colleges this year (17) include Oprah Winfrey, Janelle Monae, Pharrell Williams, Octavia Spencer and Will Ferrell, who treated students at the University of Southern California to a humorous rendition of Whitney Houston's hit I Will Always Love You.
