Dennis Quaid's son fearful over nasty Hunger Games role

Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan's teenage son Jack was warned his big-screen debut would make him very unpopular with fans after he was cast as a villain in The Hunger Games.

The 19 year old jumped at the chance to star in the highly-anticipated adaptation of the hit novel playing Marvel, who competes with lead actress Jennifer Lawrence in an arena battle to the death.

Jack Quaid is preparing to be hated by devout followers of the book trilogy when the film hits theatres, but admits he is desperate for more roles after his first taste of Hollywood.

He tells Interview magazine, "When I got cast, I was told that people would be spitting on me in the streets.

"I've been on sets my whole life, but this is the first time in front of the camera and not in a chair with Sour Patch Kids from the craft services truck. It was a new sensation. It was weird... I really liked it."
