Demi Lovato devastated after Texas shooting

Demi Lovato has called for an end to gun violence after a man was shot dead in her native Texas on Wednesday (22May13).

Two gunmen opened fire on an unidentified male who was sitting in a Range Rover outside the Southlake Town Square in the suburb of Southlake, according to police reports.

The 43 year old was transported to Baylor Grapevine Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and Lovato subsequently took to her Twitter.com page to appeal for peace in her home state.

Lovato writes, "Really sad to hear that there was a shooting in Southlake, Texas at my favourite place to hang out. 1 dead... Please stop the violence."

Authorities have asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
