Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama mourning death of another dog

Pop star Demi Lovato and her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama have been plunged into mourning after one of their beloved dogs died on Saturday (26Dec15).

The Heart Attack singer shared the sad news with fans on Instagram.com on Sunday (27Dec15), posting a photo of their poor pooch Spawn nuzzling her face.

"I miss you so much already beautiful boy," she wrote in the accompanying caption. "When I first met you 6 years ago, I was intimidated by your size and your strong presence... But as I got to know you, I learned you were just one big teddy bear. One handsome teddy bear that's for sure."

"I'm going to miss the way you greeted me at my car every time I came home or simply when I stepped outside," she continued. "I'm going to miss the way you were so protective of (other dogs) Buddy and Batman and never got annoyed with them when they were excited hyper puppies. I'm going to miss the way you would nudge at my hand if I wasn't petting you."

"I'll even miss the way I'd need a Benadryl (allergy medication) every time you'd give me kisses just like the way you're giving me kisses in this very picture," Demi added as she revealed her pet allergies. "All the sneezes, the runny noses, even the occasional hives... They were all worth it with you."

Actor Wilmer, who adopted the Doberman as a pup, also paid tribute to his furry friend with his own post, writing, "Yesterday, I said goodbye to my handsome boy Spawn, this year has been quite a roller coaster... Lots of emotions and lots thresholds crossed. This boy was there for it all... 8 years worth of memories and ups and downs. since he was a puppy he had this human like presence, everyone that knew this boy know exactly what I'm talking about... (sic)".

The loss of Spawn comes five months after the couple mourned the death of another pooch, Buddy, who died in a tragic accident.

Former That '70s Show star Wilmer gifted the dog to Demi before Christmas last year (14), but he passed away over the summer (15).

"He was taken from us way too soon in a tragic accident and though I will never know why this had to happen, I do know that God only puts us through situations that we can handle so with that, together we our staying strong," Demi revealed as she struggled to come to terms with Buddy's unexpected death.
