Dean McDermott tried to keep Tori Spelling's hospitalisation secret

Actor Dean Mcdermott has spoken out following his wife Tori Spelling's emergency surgery on Saturday (15Sep12), assuring fans the new mom is recovering well.

The actress-turned-reality TV star was hospitalized in Los Angeles for an operation to treat post-pregnancy complications relating to the Caesarean section she had after giving birth to son Finn last month (Aug12).

News of the drama broke three days later on Tuesday (18Sep12), and McDermott took to Twitter.com to explain why he tried to keep the matter secret.

He tweeted, "I didn't want to alert the world. No (celebrity website) TMZ knows. Was trying to keep it private."

When asked about Spelling's condition, he added, "She's good. Just testing (sic)."

Finn, born on 30 August (12), is Spelling's fourth child with her husband.
