David Walliams: 'I helped keep Simon Cowell's baby news secret'
Simon Cowell shared his baby news with his friend David Walliams weeks before the story hit headlines, and the British funnyman was sworn to secrecy.
The X Factor boss' private life became a global news story earlier this month (Aug13) when reports suggested he is expecting a child with New York socialite Lauren Silverman, the now-ex-wife of his friend Andrew Silverman.
Cowell is yet to confirm or deny reports suggesting he is the
baby's father, but his friend and Britain's Got Talent colleague
Walliams is adamant he knew the details weeks before it became
public.
He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I had this incredible information
but it was a private thing. I was good at keeping it a secret."
Walliams adds of Lauren Silverman, "She's lovely, I'm thrilled for
them both."
The comic is also convinced Cowell will make a very good father,
saying, "Simon has lots of experience with kids. He spends a lot of
time visiting children's hospices. He's great with them and will
absolutely love being a dad. I'm guessing people don't know much
about that. It's not something he does to look good. He wouldn't
tell you about it himself."
