Glee star Darren Criss landed his first big TV job just days after approaching his co-star Rebecca Romijn at the annual Comic-Con convention in San Diego, California and asking for her autograph.
The young hopeful had just auditioned for the role in the actress' Eastwick series and had no idea if he had landed the part when he met her as a fan at Comic-Con.
He recalled the magical moment when he appeared with Romijn on Conan on Thursday (01Aug13), explaining, "It was my first gig ever out in Los Angeles..."
The actress recalled, "He showed up at Comic-Con and stood in line for an autograph for our show and said, 'Will you sign my parking pass? I just auditioned for your show on Friday.' And on Monday morning he was there at the table read. We went, 'Were you just in line at Comic-Con?'"
Criss adds, "That's how big of a freako nerd I am... I literally drove from the audition to that and I was like, 'Oh, Eastwick's having a signing; how funny would it be if I got my parking pass signed'."
