Daniel Radcliffe in negotiations to portray Grand Theft Auto mastermind

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is in talks to play the brains behind violent video game Grand Theft Auto in a new true-to-life movie.

Director Owen Harris wants the young Brit to portray Sam Houser in Grand Theft Auto, which will detail a Florida lawyer's attempts to ban the video game.

Houser co-founded Rockstar Games, the company behind the shoot-'em-up, which is one of the world's bestsellers.

Attorney Jack Thompson famously attempted to get the video game banned in America, claiming it promoted an obsession with glorifying violence.
