Daniel Craig bonded with Javier Bardem on the set of the new 007 movie over their shared love of rugby.
The British actor returns as James Bond in Skyfall, the 23rd movie in the superspy franchise, and he does battle with Bardem as villain Raoul Silva, but Craig reveals their onscreen rivalry became a close friendship off-camera as they shared their love of rugby.
Craig tells Britain's ShortList magazine, "He played rugby for Spain, so he's serious. It's funny, we never went together, but he went to the Six Nations (tournament) and I went to the Six Nations when they were on. I got him tickets. He got me tickets. I'd love to go to watch a rugby game with him."
Craig admits he didn't have a chance to hang out with his new pal while they were filming Skyfall, but he hopes to spend more time with him in the future.
He adds, "There's just no time (for hanging out), unfortunately. I'm on set every day. I wish we had more time. But we have a long year ahead of us, so hopefully we'll see each other in a more chilled state."
