Dakota Johnson 'ready to move on' from Fifty Shades films

Dakota Johnson feels ready to "move on" from the Fifty Shades Of Grey film franchise and work on different projects.

The actress, who plays Anastasia Steele, has finished filming the series as the two sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed were shot back-to-back but she won't be completely free from the franchise until 2018, when Freed is released.

Dakota admits she is feeling slightly fed up of sex scenes and is ready to make a name for herself in different kinds of movies.

"It’s not that it has put me off entirely, but I’m ready to do other stuff," she told Britain's Glamour magazine. "And maybe they will be sexy (projects), or maybe they will be the complete opposite. But I do know that I’m ready to move on."

Even though she is "proud" of them, the 27-year-old also revealed that she sometimes regrets having done the movies, but she is determined to use them as a launching pad for a successful film career.

"It comes in waves," she said. "But this project is not going to be my swan song. It has put my life on a path that I didn’t plan to go down, but I do feel proud of it.... And the films have allowed me to do so many different projects and travel so much. In the end, Fifty Shades has plopped me in a world that I really wanted to be in."

Fifty Shades Darker follows Anastasia trying to have a normal relationship with kinky businessman Christian Grey, played by Jamie Dornan, after calling it quits in the first movie because of his BDSM lifestyle.

Her parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson have not yet watched the first Fifty Shades because they feel uncomfortable about watching her sex scenes.

"It’s one thing if a film has one sex scene in it, but with this, a large part of the premise is the arc of their sexual relationship, and I think that’s a little inappropriate for my family to watch," she said.

Fifty Shades Darker is released in cinemas from 8 February (17).
