Daisy Ridley turns down date proposal

Daisy Ridley has turned down a fan's dance invitation because she is busy filming the next Star Wars movie.

Kevin Carlock, a student at Davidson College in North Carolina, posted a rap music video on YouTube.com in February (16) in which he invites Daisy to join him for the Athletes Formal on 13 April (16).

Daisy has had to turn her fan down because of work commitments on Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began filming in January (16), but she eased the blow by posting a message to him on Instagram.

In a selfie, Daisy is holding up a handwritten note in front of her face, which reads, "Kevin Carlock. Thank you so much for that brilliant invite to your formal. Unfortunately I'm locked in an intense staring competition with Luke Skywalker, somewhere in the middle of the galaxy, so won't be able to make it! Let me know how it goes!. Have fun! Daisy/Rey XO."

In the caption, she added, "@kevincarlock your video made my day! Can't believe I only just saw it! Thank you!!!"

Kevin did not seem too upset by the rejection as he wrote on YouTube, "Thanks for the support guys, we're honored to get a reply from Ms. Ridley and stoked for episode VIII. May the formal be with us all!"

Kevin wrote the rap about his college life and lip syncs along to the track in the video along with his friends, who dance and have lightsaber battles.
