Cops called to Mischa Barton's house

Mischa Barton was left stunned when cops arrived at her house on Thursday (16May13) in response to an emergency call.

The former The O.C. star was at her home in Los Angeles when police showed up last week (ends19May13) to investigate reports of a woman screaming on the property.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ.com the person who dialled 911 about the emergency mistakenly gave Barton's address as the location of the disturbance.

The website reports Barton's father Paul, who was also present at the time of the incident, feared his daughter had been the victim of a 'swatting' prank, but the unidentified woman in trouble was actually further down the block.

In recent weeks, A-list stars including Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise have been 'swatted' by crank callers who have phoned in fake crimes to elicit an urgent police response.
