Coldplay's Headful of Dreams fails to end Adele's album chart domination in the U.K.

Adele has prevented Coldplay from scoring another number one album in the U.K.

The band has failed to topple her 25 from the top of the chart and, as a result, the new release, A Head Full Of Dreams, is Coldplay's first studio album not to debut at number one - even though fans bought 236,000 copies in a week.

Adele notched up another 350,000-plus sales week to stay at number one.

Elvis Presley's former chart-topper, If I Can Dream, slips to three, while Justin Bieber's Purpose and Jess Glynne's I Cry When I Laugh round out the new top five.

Bieber's Love Yourself lands a second week at the top of the singles chart, a week after replacing himself at number one.

The pop star's Sorry remains at two and Sweet Lovin' by Sigala is a high new entry at three.
