Cody Simpson encouraged his sister to launch pop career

Cody Simpson was instrumental in launching his younger sister's singing career as he encouraged her to follow him into the music business.

Simpson, who is currently touring the country with his friend Justin Bieber, helped his 15-year-old sister Alli land a recording contract and is now feeling proud as her debut track, Why I'm Single, is racking up millions of hits on YouTube.com.

Alli has revealed she wouldn't have pursued a pop career without her brother's encouragement, telling the Sydney Daily Telegraph, "I never had any intention of getting into the business but whenever I would sing around the house, Cody always encouraged me to take it further. I thought I might as well give it a go because we are in the right market to do it...

"The response has been mind blowing. I would never have thought it would make it into the top charts around the world. It's so surreal to me... We are both 100 per cent supportive of each other and are always there for one another."

Cody adds of his sister, "She's my best mate. We hardly argue and I always ask for her opinion on things. I trust her in every single way.''
