CHRISTINA AGUILERA RETURNING TO STRIPPED SOUND AFTER ALBUM FLOP

Christina Aguilera has vowed to return to the sound of her bestselling record Stripped following disappointing sales of her 2010 release Bionic - and she's already back in the studio working on new tracks.

The Dirrty singer returned with her first album in four years in June (10), but Bionic only shifted 200,000 units in the first five weeks on sale, marking her worst ever performance in the Billboard 200 album chart.

Christina Aguilera's last two records have failed to replicate the huge sales of her 2002 hit Stripped, and she is hoping to reignite her career by returning to the sound which made her a superstar.

She tells Instyle, "Now I'm actually in the studio recording the next album, which has a different vibe.

"I think now we're back to going a little deeper, in the vein where I recorded my Stripped record, which was very personal and more introspective."
