Christina Aguilera: 'My son's going to give me a heart attack!'

Christina Aguilera predicts her son will join Cirque du Soleil when he's older.

The 35-year-old singer is mother to Max, eight, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman. The youngster is a huge fan of parkour, a discipline also known as free running, and Christina is struggling to accept the daring nature of her son's new favourite hobby.

"Max is into this new sport a.k.a free running, parkour. It's all these crazy men jumping off of buildings and stuff. He's just like this little acrobat," Christina laughed during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday (16Apr16). "He'll be in Cirque du Soleil one day or something, he's just that guy."

As Ellen showed a video of Max in action, Christina said: "Look at him, training already to jump off of buildings one day and give me a heart attack - it's awesome!"

Max's interests mean that he is less than impressed by his mother's involvement as a judge on TV talent show The Voice. But there is one programme he would like to see her working with.

"He couldn't care less that I'm on The Voice - the chairs, the whole thing, he couldn't care less," she smiled. "But if I was on American Ninja Warriors he would literally want to come to work with me every day. Then I'd be cool, the cool mom."

Christina is currently enjoying success on The Voice, with her acts Alisan Porter and Bryan Bautista vying for the crown. She first appeared as a judge on the show from 2011 to 2013, and went back for season eight in 2015 before returning for this year's (16) series.

"It's always a little easier to get back into it because they're in such a flow and it's become so huge since that first season that I signed on," Christina said of her comeback on the programme. "And we're doing really great, I've got two remaining members, Bryan and Alisan, they're just killing it every single week and I just loving getting to know these amazing talents and helping them."
