Chris Pine fell in love with Gal Gadot on Wonder Woman set

Chris Pine enjoyed coming to work and flirting with Gal Gadot every day while playing Wonder Woman's love interest.

The Star Trek star admits he had no problem imagining he could be in love with the superheroine because he fell for the Israeli actress behind the costume - and her character - on day one.

"I mean look at her! It's not a bad gig," he beamed during a recent press conference. "Gal has the great rare combination of qualities to have, which is to be physically and very formidable, compelling and magnetic, which can sometimes come across as harsh, because there's a sharpness to beauty sometimes that's very overwhelming.

"But simultaneously she has a warmth and a curiosity that's very true and very childlike that makes me giggle because it's just pure. That softness with that beauty and that strength to me is a critical combination and she has that in spades and didn't have to try all that hard to do it.

"My job was very easy. I got to come to work, fall in love with her, make her laugh as much as I could, flirt and act like a jackass."

But Pine had no chance of wooing Wonder Woman when the cameras weren't rolling - Gadot is happily married to Yaron Versano. The couple, which wed in 2008, recently welcomed its second child.

The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star took to Instagram on 20 March (17) to announce the news she had become a mom again.

"And then we were four... She is here, Maya," the 31-year-old wrote. "I feel so complete blessed and thankful for all the Wonders in my life (sic)."

The post was accompanied by a black and white photo, taken from behind, showing Gal holding hands with her husband Yaron, as they walked alongside their five-year-old daughter Alma in what appeared to be a hospital hallway.
