Chris Brown's rep dismisses BET Awards arrest report

Chris Brown's representative has dismissed reports the singer was arrested for gun possession at the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (01Jul12).

The Kiss Kiss singer picked up the Best Male R&B Artist honour and was named Entertainer Of The Year, but editors at x17online.com claimed his triumph was overshadowed when he was detained by police.

It was alleged Brown was arrested for gun possession and taken to a local police station, but his spokesperson has moved swiftly to shoot down the reports.

His rep tells GossipCop.com there was no arrest and adds: "Nothing of the sort happened."

As well as Brown, other big winners on the night included Drake (Best Male Hip Hop Artist), Beyonce (Best Female R&B Artist), Jay-Z and Kanye West's The Throne collaboration (Best Group and Video of the Year honours) and The Help - the drama won Best Movie, and its star, Viola Davis, landed Best Actress.
