Chris Brown's probation revoked over Washington, D.C. fight

Chris Brown has had his probation revoked after a Los Angeles judge ruled that assault charges relating to a recent fight in Washington, D.C. violated the terms of his freedom.

The Kiss Kiss hitmaker, who was placed on supervised release for his 2009 attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna, appeared in court on Monday (16Dec13) for a progress hearing, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin was not happy with his conduct in Washington, D.C. and revoked his probation.

However, Judge Brandlin decided against having the singer taken into custody as Brown is said to be doing well as he undergoes anger management treatment in a lockdown rehab facility. Brown was ordered to spend 90 days under doctors' care last month (Nov13).

The embattled singer must remain in treatment and return to court on 10 February (14) for another progress update. He must also avoid using medical marijuana until the next hearing.

Brown was slapped with a misdemeanour assault charge in October (13) following a fight outside a Washington, D.C. hotel.

He pleaded not guilty to the allegation, but the bust-up prompted him to seek help to overcome his temper troubles.

He checked in to a rehab center in Malibu, California on 29 October (13), but left the venue in early November (13). It was subsequently revealed that Brown had actually been kicked out after hurling a rock through his mother's car window during an argument, an outburst which led the judge to sentence him to the 90-day treatment sentence.

It's the second time this year (13) Brown's probation has been revoked - a judge issued a similar ruling in July (13) after he was accused of hit-and-run dating back to a minor incident in May (13). The case was later dismissed.
