Chris Brown and Drake club lawsuit dismissed

Chris Brown and his rap rival Drake have won a legal victory after a lawsuit relating to their notorious nightclub brawl last year (12) was thrown out of court.

The pair's entourages came to blows in New York City's W.i.P venue in June last year (12) after an argument allegedly erupted over Rihanna, who has dated both of the stars.

Following the altercation, bosses at Entertainment Enterprises, Ltd., who own a large stake in Greenhouse, a club located in the same building, filed a $16 million lawsuit against the pair, alleging their reputation was ruined by the media fallout.

However a judge has disagreed with their claims and ruled the stars have no duty to behave in the club, especially as they were not even in the nightspot when the fight broke out. The judge also insisted altercations in nightclubs are common, and bosses can't sue everytime one occurs.

Last year (12), Drake filed legal papers urging the case's presiding judge to toss out the suit, claiming that Greenhouse already had a bad reputation and its liquor licence was once suspended due to a "string of violent incidents".
