Chord Overstreet dedicates song to Cory Monteith
Chord Overstreet dedicated a song to his late friend Cory Monteith at a show in Los Angeles on Saturday (20Jul13) as a number of other Glee stars watched from the audience.
The actor died in Canada last weekend (13-14Jul13) after taking a lethal combination of heroin and alcohol, and he was remembered by castmate Overstreet during his show at the Roxy Theater.
Overstreet dedicated a song to Monteith during the set, which
marked his first solo gig with a live band, and he was supported by
his Glee castmates Kevin McHale, Dianna Agron and Jenna Ushkowitz,
who were all in the audience.
After the show, Overstreet told E! News, "He was the greatest dude
you'd ever met. Never met anyone who said anything bad about him...
We're all going thought it. Everybody loved him... I spent more
time with him than I have with anyone in my family in the last
three or four years... We're a family."
Overstreet also admitted he felt sad his friend wasn't able to see
him perform his show, adding, "If he's out there watching, I would
want him to look down and give me a high five."
