Chiquis Rivera promotes further education as college spokeswoman

Jenni Rivera's eldest daughter Chiquis has become a spokeswoman for a private California college to encourage fans to go back to school.

The 29-year-old singer has filmed a TV advertisement for ICDC College and in the promo spot, she praises her late mother's determination to further her own education later in life after falling pregnant with Chiquis while she was still in high school.

She says, "I still remember my mother riding her bike to school. There's nothing in the world that could keep her from finishing her education.

"She would say, 'If you want it bad enough, you will find a way. If not, you will find excuses.'

"I am so proud of my mum's successes and how she never gave up on her education. We all have obstacles, but they can't stop you. Get your education and it will change your life."

Singer/actress Jenni Rivera lost her life in a 2012 plane crash in Mexico, aged 43.
