Chief Keef unfazed by outstanding DUI warrant

Rapper Chief Keef is confident he will not be jailed over a recent driving under the influence stop in Florida, insisting the charge isn't that serious.

The I Don't Like star, real name Keith Cozart, had a warrant issued for his arrest on Tuesday (02May17) after failing to show up for an arraignment hearing in Miami to face counts relating to his April (17) bust for DUI and drug possession.

Chief Keef was spotted out in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (03May17), when he appeared unfazed by the legal trouble in Miami.

Playing down the legal trouble, he told TMZ.com, "It'll be alright... Ain't nothin' but a DUI (sic)."

He then addressed the arrest warrant, telling cops, "Come and get me," adding, "It's just a DUI... I ain't going to jail (sic)."

Chief Keef's comments seem to suggest he has no plans to return to Florida anytime soon, putting his scheduled performance at Miami's Rolling Loud festival on Saturday (06May17) in doubt.

Festival organizers have yet to weigh in on the situation.

Meanwhile, the troubled rapper's FilmON TV label boss, Alki David, told Billboard.com earlier this week (begs01May17) the 21-year-old's attorneys will save him from the legal mess.

"Keef's crack legal team will work this out," he said.

Chief Keef's arrest last month (Apr17) was his second DUI in three years. He was also declared a fugitive in August, 2014, after failing to attend a hearing in his native Chicago, Illinois for the same charge.

His arrest in that incident took place in March, 2014, just days after he completed a court-ordered stint in rehab to deal with his marijuana habit.
