Charlie Sheen happy his kids are safe with ex-wife Richards

Charlie Sheen has given his ex-wife Denise Richards the OK to look after his twin sons after they were removed from their mother's home in California on Thursday night (02May13) and placed in her care.

His four-year-old boys with troubled Brooke Mueller will stay with Richards until officials decide where the brothers will be housed permanently at a hearing next week (beg06May13), while their mom attempts to deal with her latest problems.

And Sheen's representative tells TMZ.com that the actor is happy to hear his second wife has stepped in to look after his kids - as she did when Mueller underwent treatment in rehab in 2011.

The rep says, "Charlie supports the actions of the Department of Children and Family Services. He knows Max and Bob are safe and in a stable, loving environment with Denise and the boys' sisters."

The twins were taken from their mother's home by L.A. County D.C.F.S. officers, who decided Mueller's home was an "unsafe environment" due to her suspected drug use.

Sheen's rep insists the actor will "fully co-operate and fully participate in all proceedings" concerning the welfare of his sons.
