Charli XCX scores double win at 2017 SESAC Pop Awards

Charli Xcx took home two prizes at the 2017 SESAC Pop Awards on Thursday night (13Apr17).


The British singer was honored with Songwriter of the Year as well as Song of the Year for single Same Old Love, which she wrote for Selena Gomez's 2015 album Revival.

SESAC's official Twitter account documented the night's events, uploading a photo of Charli, 24, holding an award while surrounded by three other people on stage.

"And finally, congratulations to our Songwriter of the Year @charli_xcx! You're a gem and we love you #SESACPopAwards," the caption read.

She attended the ceremony at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City in an offbeat outfit made up of baggy white pinstriped trousers and a matching top with a plunging neckline, accessorizing the look with orange shades and chunky sneakers.

The Boom Clap singer has writing credits for various other singer's work on her resume, including Iggy Azalea, who she collaborated with on track Fancy, and will.i.am.

Other winners at the bash, hosted by the performing rights organization Society of European Stage Authors and Composers, included musician and producer George Clinton, who performed and accepted a legacy award, and bosses at Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which was named Publisher of the Year.
