Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are lending their voices to a new Amazon series, titled Comrade Detective.

The Magic Mike star, who began developing the project last year (16), also serves as an executive producer.

The comedy series, set in 1980s Romania, was originally titled Iron Fisting, and starred Florin Piersic, Jr. and Corneliu Ulici as detectives investigating the murder of a colleague. According to a description of the spoof show, it was "sadly forgotten about after the fall of the Berlin Wall", but rediscovered and reworked by Tatum and Gordon-Levitt.

The actors will join Chloe Sevigny, Kim Basinger, Mahershala Ali, Bobby Cannavale, and others to dub the show in English.

The series will premiere on the streaming service in August (17).
