Carrie Underwood is “honored” that U.S. Olympic gold medalist Madison Kocian is a fan of her music.

The country singer has been supporting Team USA at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, and like others, she has tuned in to watch gymnast Madison score a gold medal for the artistic team all-around and a silver on the uneven bars. So when Carrie, 33, discovered that Madison had revealed she knows all the words to the star’s Storyteller album during an interview with Us Weekly, the musician couldn’t contain her excitement.

“I am so honored! Thank you! I am a fan of yours as well. You ladies are KILLING it! We are all so proud of you!!!” Carrie gushed on Twitter in response to the Olympian’s tweet, which reads: “YES I LOVE @carrieunderwood," followed by an emoji with heart eyes and a red heart.

Keeping her cool when responding, Madison thanked her idol and again reminded her she “loves” her music.

Carrie has been quite active on her social media page recently, also sharing links to her Southern Living interview alongside fellow country star Brad Paisley, during which they discussed hosting the 50th Annual CMA Awards for a ninth year in a row.

"There's a lot of trust between us," Brad told the publication of presenting the ceremony with Carrie. "That's key when you're standing out there on that tightrope. More than that, what makes a great balance is she has such grace, and I don't."

"Brad is willing to make himself the butt of the joke, which you've got to respect," Carrie added with a laugh.

The event takes place on 02 November (16).
