Mariah Carey's dancer beau Bryan Tanaka was warned about his crush on the singer while she was still engaged to James Packer.
The Hero singer went public with her romance to the 33-year-old back-up dancer in November (16), less than two months after her split from billionaire fiance James Packer, by sharing pictures of her kissing him on the lips while wrapping her legs around his waist during a vacation in Hawaii.
Both Bryan and James appear in the singer's reality show Mariah's World, which was filmed earlier this year (16). In the series, Bryan makes no secret of his crush on Mariah, leading her creative director and choreographer Anthony Burrell to issue him with a stern warning.
“I’m like, 'Dude. you’re walking on dangerous ground here.’ The girl is engaged about to be married," he said, according to Usmagazine.com.
In Sunday night's (18Dec16) episode, Bryan is also asked to jump out of a cake to celebrate her "anniversary", a term she prefers to use for her birthday, and he was immediately up for the surprise.
"I'm really hoping that anniversary night I have a chance for a conversation with MC and catch up,' he told the cameras "I might have to steal her for a second."
The dancer revealed during the episode he was single but he "can't wait" to be in a relationship, where he would be completely loyal, although he is currently enjoying the gifts he receives from his fans, which include flowers and chocolates left outside his room.
The dancer, who first met Mariah in 2005, told the cameras about being excited to reconnect with her after all their time apart.
"I love Mariah. She's been actually one of the most amazing, supportive people in my career," he gushed. "Because I've worked with her for so long, I've been able to see the most real, authentic Mariah Carey. She is extremely thoughtful. She is extremely caring. There's something so unique about her."
The anniversary special episode airs on 1 January (17).
