Britney Spears wins latest perfume battle ruling

Written by . Published: August 31 2011

A Los Angeles judge has ruled Britney Spears will not have to hand over her medical records to officials at a branding company suing her for allegedly breaching a deal.

Bosses at Brand Sense Partners are suing the singer for $10 million , claiming she double-crossed them by trying to cut them out of a lucrative scent deal with Elizabeth Arden.

Lawyers for the Toxic hitmaker hit back, filing a counter-complaint claiming the branding firm withheld money due to her for her Radiance perfume.

Spears will not have to take the stand in court as her legal team insisted she is not competent enough to be deposed, and Brand Sense bosses demanded to see her medical records to prove she could not testify.

But during a hearing at L.A. Superior Court on Tuesday (30Aug11), Judge Reva Goetz ruled that the firm has no right to see Spears' health documents, according to the Associated Press.
