Brantley Gilbert officiates at fans' wedding
Country singer Brantley Gilbert added wedding official to his resume by marrying two of his fans at a music festival on Sunday (05Oct14).
The You Don't Know Her Like I Do hitmaker took to the stage for Mobile, Alabama's BayFest music festival, but after his gig, he switched gears to be an ordained minister for the nuptials of fans Brianna Tolbert and Colby Jerkins.
The couple won a contest through a local radio station to have the
star as its officiant, and Gilbert took the role seriously, even
donning a black and white robe, but added his own flair with a
leather vest on top.
Tolbert tells Taste of Country that Gilbert was a perfect minister,
gushing, "Brantley handled everything in a professional way and he
was very easygoing. He seems to be a very laid-back kind of
guy.
"It was something neither one of us or our families will ever
forget. Colby and I are so thankful for this experience and we are
so glad that Brantley took the time out of his day to perform the
ceremony for us."
The newlyweds previously planned a larger affair for 18 October
(14) which they are still gearing up for, but they decided to
officially tie the knot a couple weeks in advance in order to have
Gilbert's conduct the ceremony.
