Brandy denies she is engaged to music exec boyfriend

Singer Brandy has denied she is engaged to her boyfriend Ryan Press after speaking of her desperation to wed in an interview earlier this year (12).

The Boy Is Mine hitmaker has been dating the music executive for several years, and in an interview with Ebony magazine in May (12), revealed she is keen to walk down the aisle.

She said, "I wish we were engaged. He’s taking a little long on the ring side of things, but I’m patient. I wanted to impress him. I wanted him to be proud of me; I was inspired by him. So making the record and his being there, it’s just all a part of it. Him and my daughter. I want him to love my songs. I want him to love my voice."

Brandy's comments sparked rumors Press had proposed after the interview, but the singer has taken to Twitter.com to put the record straight.

She writes, "I'm not engaged. You guys would have been the first to know after my fam bam (family)! Trust me, I would have tweeted the ring."

However, Brandy hinted that wedding bells may not be too far away by adding "soon" to the end of her Tweet.
