Beyonce celebrated Christmas by spending a second week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with her new, self-titled album.

The Crazy in Love hitmaker released the surprise project exclusively on iTunes.com with no announcement or promotion on 13 December (13).

By the close of the music chart week on 15 December (13), the pop superstar had sold 671,000 copies of her fifth studio album, and it continued to prove popular in its second week of release, totalling 991,000 sales in just 10 days and making it the 12th biggest-selling album of 2013.

The tally kept Garth Brooks' Blame It All On My Roots in second place on the Billboard 200, while One Direction's Midnight Memories ended the year in third place.

Meanwhile, Eminem and Rihanna's The Monster racked up a third week atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, holding off Pitbull's collaboration with Ke$ha, Timber, at two.
