Beyonce's Lemonade has been named Album of the Year by editors at music bible Rolling Stone.

The release, which features the hits Formation and Daddy Lessons, has beaten out David Bowie's final album Blackstar and Chance the Rapper's acclaimed Coloring Book to land the top spot on the end-of-year countdown.

Frank Ocean's Blonde, Kanye West's The Life of Pablo, Radiohead's A Moon Shaped Pool, Blue & Lonesome by The Rolling Stones, and Leonard Cohen's You Want it Darker also make the top 10.

Cohen released what would be his final album just weeks before he died last month (Nov16).

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone's Single of the Year is another win for Beyonce, with Formation beating out Frank Ocean's Ivy and One Dance by Drake.

David Bowie's No Plan and Ultralight Beam by Kanye West round out the top five.
