Beyonce and Jay Z outbid on mansion by Minecraft creator
Hip-hop supercouple Beyonce and Jay Z have reportedly been outbid on an offer for a California mansion by the billionaire behind video game Minecraft.
The stars made an undisclosed offer on the Beverly Hills property after visiting the house multiple times, but Swedish video game programmer Markus Persson reportedly handed over $70 million in cash for the mansion, according to TMZ.com.
According to real estate site Curbed.com, the property includes
eight bedrooms, a movie theater, a candy room, and vodka and
tequila bars.
Theverge.com also reports the $70 million offer is the most any
resident has paid for a house in the wealthy neighborhood.
Persson, 35, sold his company, Mojang, to tech giant Microsoft in
September (14) for $2.5 billion. Minecraft has become a cult
favorite, and is currently being developed into a live-action film
by Warner Bros.
