British actor Benedict Cumberbatch is giving fans another chance to see him in a highly-anticipated London play by handing out $16 tickets in a ballot after the 12-week run sold out in just seven hours.

The Imitation Game star is set to play the title role in a new production of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet at the Barbican Center later this year (15), and the coveted tickets were snapped up in record time when they went on sale.

However, disappointed fans have now been given another chance as theater bosses have launched an affordable ticket scheme, giving away 100 seats for every show for just $16 . Theater-lovers can enter an online ballot to win the seats, and successful entrants will be notified by 19 June (15).

The production is due to open on 5 August (15) and run until 31 October (15). It will also be screened live in cinemas across the U.K. on 15 October (15).
