Aziz Ansari lands comedy award

Funnyman Aziz Ansari is set to be honored with Variety's Power of Comedy Award.
The Parks and Recreation star will be feted at the fifth annual Variety Power of Comedy event for his achievements in the genre.
In addition to his role on the hit sitcom, Ansari is an
accomplished stand-up comedian, and has had memorable screen roles
in This is the End, I Love You, Man, 30 Minutes or Less, and Funny
People.
Previous recipients of the award include talk show host Jimmy
Kimmel, Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane, and Ansari's Parks and
Recreation co-star, Amy Poehler.
The Power of Comedy event, which will also support women's cancer
organization The Noreen Fraser Foundation, will take place on 11
December (14) in Los Angeles.
