Azealia Banks takes aim at Cardi B for new number one feat

Written by . Published: September 27 2017

Outspoken Azealia Banks is picking a new fight with the rap world's latest chart queen, calling Cardi B a "poor man's Nicki Minaj".

Just hours after the hip-hop star made Billboard Hot 100 history on Monday (25Sep17) by becoming the first solo female rapper to hit number one this century with Bodak Yellow, unimpressed Banks took aim at her.

While stars like Minaj and Missy Elliott were congratulating the newcomer on her chart feat, Azealia turned on her.

In a now-deleted Twitter rant, she attacked Power 105.1 Breakfast Club host Charlamagne tha God for supporting Bodak Yellow.

"Charlemagne and black men in hiphop should have gotten me, remy (Remy Ma) AND nicki a number one before they gave cardi or iggy (Azalia) one (sic)," she wrote.

Cardi B hasn't responded, but took to social media to thank all the artists who have congratulated her on her number one.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift sent Cardi flowers to congratulate her after the rapper ended her run at the top of the Hot 100 with Look What You Made Me Do.

"Sooo beautiful and lovely," she wrote on Instagram under a photo of herself posing with the bouquet. "Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers... and I freaking love your music."
