Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger married on Canada Day - report

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger reportedly exchanged vows at a lavish ceremony in France on Canada's national day (01Jul13).

Wedding rumours began circulating online on Saturday (29Jun13) suggesting the couple was set to exchange vows in secret over the weekend (29-30Jun13), and now pictures have emerged apparently showing they became man and wife on Monday (01Jul13). The date has extra significance for the couple as it also marks Canada Day.

The images show Lavigne wearing a long, white dress with an extended train and flowers in her hair, walking arm in arm with Kroeger at the Chateau La Napoule in Mandelieu, near Cannes in Frances.

Editors at Usmagazine.com report the couple exchanged vows in front of around 50 guests, and the ceremony was followed by a dinner and reception.

A source tells the website, "Yes, they're married... It was a wild, all-night party with drinking, dancing, incredible food and lots of laughter and tears of happiness... Avril and Chad had glasses of wine in their hands and were kissing as fireworks popped overhead and sparkled down. It was a magical moment and everyone was overwhelmed!... It was a truly amazing wedding, absolutely magical."

The nuptials were reportedly preceded by a pre-wedding party and rehearsal dinner over the weekend ahead of the big day.

The marriage marks the Nickelback frontman's first trip down the aisle, while Lavigne is divorced from Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley.
