Austin Mahone treated for blood clot

Teen star Austin Mahone has been diagnosed with a blood clot and "extreme inflammation" in his throat after he was hospitalized on Thursday (17Oct13).

The What About Love hitmaker was placed under doctors' care after coming down with a 104-degree Fahrenheit (40-degree Celsius) fever as he battled a nasty bout of influenza.

The illness forced him to postpone his entire tour until next year (14) after initially just delaying the first two gigs on the trek, which was due to kick off in Florida this week (ends18Oct13).

Now his representative has revealed the seriousness of Mahone's health crisis, stating the 17 year old is "being treated for a blood clot and extreme inflammation in his throat as well as severe dehydration".

The spokesperson has yet to explain the suspected cause of the medical problems.
