Ashton Kutcher hinted at marriage trouble in magazine

Ashton Kutcher offered up love advice to the editors of a top women's magazine, just weeks before his own marriage to Demi Moore fell apart.

The actor opened up about the secrets to a great relationship with bosses at Women's Health magazine for the publication's December (11) issue, explaining communication is key.

But his tips have now come into question after Demi Moore announced on Thursday (17Nov11) that their six-year marriage was over - days before the publication hits news stands.

The couple had been dogged by rumors of Ashton Kutcher's infidelity since it spent its sixth wedding anniversary apart in September (11). Appearing to refer to his own troubled marriage, the Two and a Half Men star suggests he regrets not working on strengthening his relationship with Moore long before their problems became tabloid news.

When asked about the best love advice he's ever received, he said, "I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better... when it's good. Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."

And in the candid Women's Health chat, conducted weeks before the split confirmation, Ashton Kutcher tellingly admitted his lack of listening skills has always been a problem.

He adds, "I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, 'You're a great listener.' Haven't heard it yet, and that's a superior compliment to get from a woman. But I'm going to work on it."

Ultimately the couple's problems became too difficult to overcome - and judging by Ashton Kutcher's own words, the trouble lies with his unwillingness to abandon his old ways: "I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me."
