Ariana Grande: 'Nathan Sykes was perfect gentleman on first date'

British pop star Nathan Sykes wooed his ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande by treating her to French pastries and showering her with flowers on their first date.

The Wanted singer fell for Grande after recording the duet Almost Is Never Enough and they went public with their romance in September (13).

The young couple has reportedly parted ways, but the Baby I hitmaker, 20, is still full of praise for Sykes and reveals he was the perfect gentleman when he first invited her back to his hotel suite.

She tells Cosmopolitan magazine, "We were going back to his hotel to watch a movie, and he had Laduree macarons and sunflowers waiting - I love Parisian baked goods, and sunflowers are my favorite flower.

"He had taken the DVD player out of the bedroom and into the living room, because he said he didn't want to take me into the bedroom on the first date."

Grande hinted at the break-up during a Florida radio interview before Christmas (25Dec13).

When asked by host Brian Fink whether they had split up, Grande replied, "You're a little behind", before adding, "We're really good friends."
