Ariana Grande 'almost died' in New York stage slip

Pop star Ariana Grande narrowly avoided serious injury during a Christmas concert in New York on Friday (12Dec14) after slipping on confetti near the edge of the stage.

The Problem hitmaker was strutting across the stage at Madison Square Garden as part of the annual Jingle Ball gig when she lost her footing and stumbled in her towering white stilettos.

She managed to regain her balance and continued with her performance of Love Me Harder, but after the song, she quipped to the audience, "Woooo, girl, I almost died up here!"

Grande managed to laugh off the incident and even shared a clip of the close call on Instagram.com.

She captioned the video, "When u slip on confetti & almost die at Madison Square Garden."
