Andrew Keegan starts social movement
Actor Andrew Keegan is set to embark on a new career path with the launch of his own "social movement".
The Independence Day star has formed Full Circle in Venice Beach, California, and in an introduction on his new website, he states the new venture is "dedicated to supporting individuals in our community to follow their passions with a broader social understanding".
He adds, "The home of a conscious social movement, we provide an
experiential environment designed to creatively expand
consciousness through visual and performing arts, movement classes,
workshops, forums and healing therapies.
"Full Circle integrates the indigenous and modern practises,
bringing individuals, community and organizations together as
indispensable collaborators realizing a co-creative, sustainable
and fulfilling future. We provide a platform for the community to
engage in diversity inclusion, economic and environmental
sustainability, inspiration through art and music, health and
well-being and social/soci-political awareness."
Keegan was inspired to start the organization after he was attacked
by gang members in California in March, 2011.
He explains, "The significance of this occurrence is that it
happened at the same time the tsunami hit Japan."
The actor goes on to explain how a series of odd events led him to
Full Circle. He tells Vice.com, "I had a moment where I was looking
at a street lamp and it exploded. That was a weird coincidence. At
a ceremony, a heart-shaped rose quartz crystal was on the altar,
and synchronistically, this whole thing happened. It's a long
story, but basically the crystal jumped off the altar and skipped
on camera. That was weird."
