Amanda Bynes transferred to UCLA - report
Troubled actress Amanda Bynes has been transferred to UCLA Medical Center in California for further treatment three weeks after she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, according to reports.
The star was arrested last month (Jul13) after allegedly starting a small fire on a driveway in her parents' neighborhood of Thousand Oaks, California. She was initially hospitalized for 72 hours, but a court extended her stay following concerns about the Hairspray actress' ongoing mental health.
And on Thursday (15Aug13), Bynes was moved from a facility in
Ventura County, California to UCLA at the request of her parents,
who have won a temporary conservatorship over the actress. Bynes'
mother reportedly requested the transfer because she felt UCLA was
one of the best psychological facilities in America, according to
TMZ.com.
The family will appear in court next month (Sep13) to determine if
the conservatorship will be made permanent.
