Amanda Bynes to continue mental health treatment for another two weeks - report

Amanda Bynes will remain under doctors' supervision at a California psychiatric hospital for another two weeks after she was placed on an involuntary 72-hour hold on Friday (10Oct14).

The troubled Hairspray star has been undergoing treatment at the Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena since last week, when her parents' attorney and medical experts staged an intervention upon her return to Los Angeles from her adopted New York.

The order has since been extended to keep Bynes in care until the end of the month (Oct14), according to Eonline.com.

The star, who also underwent similar psychiatric treatment last summer (13) following a string of legal and behavioural issues, had spent an eventful week in the Big Apple, where she was accused of shoplifting and clashing with a fan who had tried to take photos of her during a night out.

She ended her stay in New York by sensationally blasting her father Rick on Twitter.com for sexually abusing her as a child, only to later retract the claims, which have been vehemently denied by her mother Lynn and the 28 year old's older siblings.
