Amanda Bynes' dad speaks out about her DUI arrest

Amanda Bynes' father has jumped to his daughter's defence following her DUI arrest last week (ends06Apr12), insisting the Hairspray star is "a good girl" who doesn't drink.

The actress, 26, was booked on Friday morning (06Apr12) after allegedly colliding with a police car in Los Angeles - but her dad Rick Bynes insists the only thing she's guilty of was being "upset and very emotional".

Firing back at reports suggesting his daughter had been drinking, Rick Bynes tells People.com, "She was not drunk. I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink."

And dad blames the cop for the accident, claiming he pulled out in front of his daughter "as she was turning at the West Hollywood intersection, where she was cited."
